Yard Jockey Driver

JOB SUMMARY:

What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Drive a yard jockey from dock to dock
- Pick up and deliver trailers to the specified docking area
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspections
- Load and unload freight
- Complete required paperwork and communicate clearly (verbally and in writing) with supervisors and associates

What you need to succeed at People4Net:

At a minimum, you’ll need:
- A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record over the past 2 years
- Experience shifting trailer
- Ability to read and write and accurately complete paperwork
- Understanding of bills of lading, manifests and freight bills

It’d be great if you also have:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 6 months of relevant experience
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including planned and unplanned overtime, which may include weekends
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

This job requires the ability to:
- Walk, climb, bend, stoop, squat, twist, push and pull 
- Reach (including above your head)
- Work for extended periods of time on various surfaces that may be uneven or slippery
- Connect and disconnect a yard jockey
- Drive a truck and/or tractor-trailer combination with power steering
- Lift up to 50 lbs. frequently and greater than 100 lbs. occasionally; may also move up to 500 lbs. on wheeled carts

Job Types: Full-time, Temporary

Pay: $21 per hour
